What is it about the bass?

Hey everyone hope all is well. I'm sitting at my desk having a light snack on this Monday afternoon. its around 3:00pm and i was just thinking what was it about the bass that just made me stick with it? for a short second i thought of all the instruments i could have played why was bass the winner and then it just came to me it was not me who chose the instrument but indeed the instrument chose me. Then i thought back to when i first picked up A instrument which were the drums. At that time my late brother Lamont Huffaker was a drummer in marching band and i want to be just like him at that moment. So i start learning rudiments from my band instructor which at the beginning it was nice because all i could think about was that i was gonna be a drummer like my brother... long story short the inspiration did not last long so i decided to ask my band instructor could i try out for sax and of course he said okay but they needed to order one for me. So in the meantime he pointed to a upright bass in the corner and told me that i could try bass for a little while until they get a sax in for me... i was kinda puzzled at the moment because it was not something i could see myself playing and it being dusty and old at that time did not help but i stuck it out. then one day my band instructor came in with a black and white fender squier bass and told me to try it out. So i plug it in the amp and when I plucked the first note I knew this was me! It was like I had been given super powers all the raw energy that came from that one note made me feel Empowered and destined to be someone great!!!!
